Guide

Everything you’ll meet in the dark.

New things show up as the mazes grow. The first time one appears, the game places it near the start and explains it. Here’s the whole list.

The basics Pickups Hazards Your tools Racing

The basics

The glowing ball in a dark maze corridor

Your light

Level 1

Swipe to roll. A short swipe stops at the next turn; a full swipe rolls to the wall. You only see what your light reaches, and paths you’ve explored stay faintly lit.

The exit beacon glowing at the end of a corridor

The exit

Level 1

A beacon that’s always visible and hums louder as you get close. When it’s off screen, an arrow at the edge points the way. Every run is timed.

Pickups

A light spark next to the ball

Light spark

From level 3

Widens your light for the rest of the run, and the camera pulls back a little. They add up, to a limit.

A speed boost pickup below the ball

Speed boost

From level 3

You roll much faster for 15 seconds. Your ball streaks and its trail stretches while it lasts.

Fruit and sweets scattered near the ball

Treats

From level 15

Cherries, berries, candy and cake take time off your run. They’re tallied up when you reach the exit.

A Surge orb in the maze

Surge

From level 40

A rare one you keep for later. Tap the Surge button to send out a shockwave that reveals a wide area and knocks out every enemy it reaches for 15 s. Rivals caught in it go blind for a few seconds.

Hazards

A missile launcher firing down a corridor

Launchers

From level 5

They fire missiles along a wall on a timer. Get hit and you’re thrown to the far end and stunned for a moment.

A Shadow with glowing eyes, hunting

Shadows

From level 10

They wake up and hunt your light. If one catches you, you’re sent back a stretch, and it vanishes to reappear somewhere else.

A sleeping Shadow with closed eyes

Sleeping Shadows

From level 10

Closed eyes mean it’s safe to pass. The ring around it counts down, and its eyes flicker just before it wakes.

A purple brick wall blocking a passage

Brick walls

From level 25

Purple bricks block a passage until you shoot them down. They often stand on the way out, so a wall of bricks is a good sign.

A swirling portal beside the ball

Portals

From level 35

Roll in to jump somewhere else in the maze. Used portals change colour. If you see one, you’ll probably need it to reach the exit.

A Sentry turret aiming down a corridor

Sentries

From level 50

Turrets that turn to face you and open fire down the corridor, pushing you back. Swipe fast to push through, or slip past while they cool down.

Your tools

Mines laid in a corridor

Mines

From level 10

Tap the mine button to drop one where you are. A Shadow that touches it falls asleep; a rival is stunned for 3 s. Up to 2 at once, and each takes 10 s to recharge, starting from the beginning of the run.

A blaster bolt flying down a corridor

Blaster

From level 25

Tap a rival or a Shadow to shoot. The bolt aims ahead of a moving target but flies straight, so a quick turn still dodges it. It also breaks bricks and sets off mines.

Racing

Unlocks after level 10. Race friends with a room code, get matched with other players, or practise against bots.

Three racers in different colours in one corridor

Rivals

After level 10

Everyone races the same maze, and the first out wins. Shadows and Sentries go after every racer, and close finishes get a slow-motion replay.

A rival protected by a shining shield

Shield

In races

After a hit you’re protected for a moment, so nobody can stun you twice in a row. The shield blinks faster as it runs out.

An ammo drop on the maze floor

Ammo drops

In races

Extra blaster shots, first come, first served. You can carry up to 7; your blaster still reloads one on its own.
